SLSA – Bollore Takes Over SLPA!
It was all joy in mouths of concerned Sierra Leoneans when the presentation of result on the privatization of Sierra Leone Port Authority was unveiled.
The Sierra Leone Shipping Agency (SLSA), whose parent body is Bollore Group of Companies, was announced winner for the contract to Sierra Leone’s seaport runs by a private company.
It must be noted that the SLSA and a company owned by a Philippine successful had their names short listed.
The two were later asked to submit a financial and other projection that explains how they intend to run the seaport should any win the contract.
SLSA-Bollore bidded USD 64 M while its opponent USD 9M.
It was later rumoured that officials of the national commission for privatization (NCP) attempted receiving a bribe from the owner of the company that bidded the smallest amount.
Of course, the press was left without alternative, but shoot out clandestine activities of officials designated to such a responsibility.
The Spectator press was at fore exposing corrupt intentions of public officials of government.
Yesterday, the cry of Sierra Leoneans was answered to; and SLSA-Bollore which has records for its operations at respective seaports in Africa, Europe and America gets it all.
Credible information reaching this press states how SLSA-Bollore has set aside millions of US dollars for the upgrading and putting to standards, Sierra Leone’s only seaport.
