NFF postponed Siasia unveiling ceremony

The newly appointed Manager of Nigeria Super Eagles, former player, Samson Siasia’s who was expecting to be unveiled today in Abuja by the Nigeria Football Federation  has been postponed indefinitely.

This is due to a general strike called by Nigeria’s Labour union today (Wednesday) and has left businesses and all office in the country closed.

He was expected to sign a Contract and a Code of Conduct, reports from NFF Technical Committee Chairman Chris Green as saying.

“We are all aware that there is a national strike,” NFF Executive Committee member Christopher Green said.

“A lot of those who were expected to be at the event are stranded in different parts of the country.

“So we have decided to postpone the event indefinitely. We will inform the public of a new date in due course.”

But Green says the postponement of the event will in no way slow down the programme of the federation.

“He doesn’t officially take over until December 1, and preparations for the friendly against Iran have already been made. That team will be coached by Austin Eguavoen.”
