Will NDA be a threat to APC come 2012?

Word has it that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is chomping at the bit to cinch the 2012 elections in Sierra Leone as increasing numbers of citizens are joining the party worldwide.

Established in 1994, in Kabala, Koinadugu District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone, the party was formed from an alliance of the National Democratic Movement and the Democratic Peoples party.  The founding members came from the four regions North, South, East and West and all the fourteen political districts of Sierra Leone which made the NDA party regionally and ethnically balanced.

The party’s main objective is to build a better Sierra Leone for the future generations of the country, unlike APC and SLPP parties that have made promises to our nation, but to-date have failed to come up with the goods.

“The party is going from strength to strength and is ready to tackle the disease rampantly spreading throughout nation – CORRUPTION which is a damaging symptom both for the current government and past governments,” stated Mohamed Koroma, Cleveland State University, USA, studying medicine.

The NDA is a party which has goals that are not over-inflated just to look good on paper just to fall short when the time comes…  The NDA will not promise to turn Sierra Leone into the Athens of Africa overnight, but it will promise to reduce poverty and fight communicable diseases, to provide better education; affordable health facilities for families without hardship, to restore basic public utilities and job creation through direct foreign investment, to rebuild lost values, to promote national allegiance, and to establish a transparent government answerable to the people of Sierra Leone and not a pocket family member.  This is the platform on which the NDA party stands.

The NDA realizes that the youths of today need direction and guidance for us to prepare a better foundation for future generations.  The vast majority of young voters that have recently joined the NDA have stated that they are fed up with the greed of the recycled APC, SLPP, and PMDC parties just because of power and money, only to leave the masses to suffer.  The young members are now looking to the NDA to provide them with a glimmer of hope that the needs of the youth will be a top priority.

Speaking to 21 year-old Isatu Bah, of Atlanta, USA, she stated that the youth are tired of the old APC/SLPP dinosaurs such as Sama Banya of SLPP/APC/any other party going, Eddie Turay of APC who should be enjoying retirement, and Charles Margai who doesn’t know where he belongs, etc., etc., who are sucking the life out of Sierra Leone politics.  We need modern politicians with new ideas, who are forward thinking, who will put plans in place to grow our economy and empower youths so that we can compete with the West, China, India, etc.  We have the resources; let’s use them to our benefit.”
