Daily Mail retirees request justice

Retirees of the former Daily Mail have called on government to do justice to them and enforce payment of benefits as was approved by the Cabinet.

It could be recalled that retired Daily Mail workers have had ugly encounters with the government of Ex-President Kabbah in the payment of benefits due them.

The arrival of APC witnessed oath taking by the Minister of Information and Communication, I.B Kargbo, who confidently assured Daily Mail workers that his government will fast track payment due them.

The Cabinet, some two years ago, discussed payment for Daily Mail workers and later forwarded approval to Finance and Audit Service Commission for enforcement.

Findings say the Finance and Audit Service Commission have had no attention to cause payment of the retirees.

Inside Information Ministry sources have disclosed how the process for the payment of benefits of Daily Mail workers has been ignored by the Ministry of Finance.

The affected retirees have asked government to cause officials of Finance Ministry pay benefits due them.

Sources say the Minister of Information and Communication, I.B. Kargbo, forwarded two reports on the status of the affected retires, calling on government to look into such a case and enforce payments.
