The Germ Infested ‘Star Beer’ … hold it spectator mercenary

“The best evidence is an original document or physical display of facts,” words of an investigative journalist, Ray Fitzwalter, who helped unmasked the Poulson scandal.

Quote as said above helps tell the recklessness of those who collects money from public or private organizations and later publish deceiving and untrustworthy stories in favour of persons or organization giving them such allowances.

Investigative journalism, as explained in the good books, is of definitive to staff of the Sierra Express Media, thus, the reportage of what critics say, and draws attention to mistakes and abuses. We also expose what- whether for good or ill- is happening in secret behind the public image.

To other newspaper offices, especially those whose insights to true connotations of investigative journalism speak tiny, it is of dissimilarity.

Contaminated bottles of ‘Star Beer’ drinks are in drawers of this press- a discovery we will continue to publish unhesitant.

While we draw the awareness of the editor of the Spectator Newspaper, making or showcasing our real detective work, and letting him know how journalists treat leaked information, it is but logical to make citations of paragraphs in statement of the President of Sierra Leone Association of Journalist, El-Umaru Fofanah, while in Bo on the occasion of the guild of newspaper editors meeting.

“This is why as editors you should shed off your political bias, where they exist, both in reporting on politics and in anything at all. You must publish in the interest of society and not necessarily in the interest of politicians. You must publish for the sake of your conscience and the profession not for businesspeople even if we need them.”

Words as quoted above are sayings of SLAJ Umaru Fofanah.

Such was intended to illustrate functions of independent journalist.

As a journalist, your loyalty is to the readers and not politicians or businesspeople.

Almost a week ago, editors of newspapers converged in Bo to map out strategies directing the formation of the newly borne guild of newspaper editors.

In essence, the birth of such an organization transports issues guiding journalists on how they carry out their work.

After the meeting, loud publicity were made on pages of newspapers, radio and television stations, telling the public journalism in Sierra Leone is in its reformation process.

To the amazement of persons fast tracking and advocating for the training of newspaper journalists, it is, but a reverse that an executive member of the guild of editors could woefully go against the callings and advocates of the forenamed association.

The Express Media will pay no attention to fright from anyone. Contaminated Star Beer drinks will continue to make prominence in the FrontPages of our publications.

Of course, management of SL Brewery has been contacted by this press but gave no better or sober responds.

Yes, the arrival of the union of editors is good initiative, but bad old rotten reckless journalists must be guided or debarred becoming members.

Surveys conducted say the Ministry of Health must be made to examine the alleged contaminated ‘Star Beer’ and investigate its cause.

Could not paragraph 1&2 in story published by the Spectator Newspaper’s a vilification of Sierra Express Media’s public concern campaign.

An action seemingly having the attributes of what many called as the ‘attack collect, defend collect’ stylized journalism.

“The Sierra Express got it totally wrong, if not a campaign of calumny to have published the stinker-misleading the public about germ in a Star Beer. Only ignorance about the automated facility of Brewery can be stated as justification for the malicious and vacuous article intended to remove the gloss from a company that continues to make us proud,” unfriendly, unprofessional and self invented words of the Spectator Newspaper.

Yes, Brewery continues to make proud, but have failed to say or state reasons leading to nasty and death making particles discovered in sealed ‘Star Beer’ bottles.

Who missed the point? Spectator Newspaper or Sierra Express Media?

No waste of time at all- Germ, in essence, could be detected by machines. Equally so; rotten, filthy, grimy and unclean materials are potential carriers of germs.

Watch out for more on SL Brewery and its hired media warrior! No retreat no surrender until the war is won.

Human concerns are Sierra Express Media’s ultimate concern.
