City & Salone Police fight at State House

Five Police Officers Tuesday 12th attacked a City Council Policeman, ordering him to take off a crown fixed to beret he was wearing or face arrest.

In the early hours of Tuesday 12th, a City Council Police (name withheld) was subdued by unidentified police men just at the corridors of State House.

Sources say personnel employed as Metropolitan Police officer uses the country’s national crown and coat of arm.

That some police men have been in the habit of confronting and molesting officers of City Council for using a crown they say belongs to the Sierra Leone Police.

The incident at State House would have resulted to serious riot had the intervention of a military major not felt.

It was told to our reporter that all five police officers would have calculatedly assaulted the City Council Police Constable had a senior military officer not interfered.

It could be recalled that the crown now used by all City Council officers were supplied them by the police.

Findings say officers working as City Council Police went through training at the Police Training School Hastings.

A Source also told this press that a senior female police, few weeks ago, confronted a female City Council Police, ordering her to take off the crown fixed to a beret she was putting on.

Efforts to get both at the Mayor and Police Inspector proved futile.
