IMC Rates Characters of Newspapers
The Independent Media Commission (IMC) second edition of ‘Media Watch e-bulletin’ published October 3rd defines the journalistic characters of 10 newspapers in Freetown.
The research looked at the various elements or building blocks that make up a news story, report or program.
It also looked at the newspapers’ abiding attitudes to the uniqueness of accuracy, balance and credibility (ABC) in the reportage of stories generally.
To this, came the IMC’s grading of the following newspapers: For Di People, Awoko, Awareness Times, Standard Times, Premier News, The Democrat, Stand Firm, Sierra Express Media, Concord Times, and New Vision, using the graph below.
