Acha holds farewell meeting
The outgoing Inspector General of police Brima Acha Kamara (in photo) held a one day meeting officially to intimate members of the Fourth estate about his retirement from office. Chairing the meeting superintendent Memunatu Conteh Director Community, Media and Public relation department headed the effort of the media in making the public know who the I.G is and more so the activities of the Sierra Leone police.
The outgoing I.G noted that to everything there must be and end. He said he was called to the meeting purposely to bid farewell to the press, after serving over a long period in the S.L.P from a cadet officer to Inspector General. He said that he appreciated the effort of President Koroma who stood firm to retire him at the appropriate time which is not by anyway a surprise to him. He also read his retirement letter by himself. He made it clear that because he is still in office, he was not at all sacked as most people are politicizing the issue. He also said that he is pleading to people to stop the propaganda that he was sacked.
The longest served I.G ended by saying that he appreciated the effort of the media but frowned at bad journalism. He encouraged all personnel to develop love for the nation, as for the country to develop.
