Shake Up In The Military… New CDS Staff Appointed
At an emergency press briefing held yesterday at the Ministry of Defense headquarters, Tower Hill, the Minister of Defence, Alfred Palo Conteh (in photo) announced the appointment of a new Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) in the person of Brigadier Yirra Koroma, formerly Deputy Chief of Defense and spokesman of the military who now replaces Alfred Nelson Williams, former Chief of Defence Staff who has been relieved of his duties.
The new deputy CDS is Brigadier Samuel Omar Williams, former Joint Force Commander.
Brigadier Mohamed Alie Sesay is now the new Joint Force Commander while Colonel Yarpo Sesay, Commander of the Fifth Infant Brigade was promoted to the rank of a Brigadier.
The appointment of the new CDS is however subject to parliamentary approval.
