Wanted!
Despite the call from international Organizations to eradicate the female genital mutilation as stipulated by international treaties for which Sierra Leone is a signatory little or no effort has been made by the Sierra Leone government to either domesticate or come out with a public statement that will discourage initiators to reframe from such inhuman act that has the potential to dehumanize the physical well-being of the victims. In Sierra Leone politicians see these areas as a no go area as any direct involvement in the issue as government will render them unpopular. Because of this the forceful initiation into the Bondo Society continues to increase with impunity.
The most recent case investigated by this medium reveals that a young gentleman by the name of Mohamed Lamin of 32 Leah Street Freetown has been declared wanted by FGM initiators of Makeni town Northern provinces of Sierra Leone for forceful removal of his wife into the society bush with blood oozing out of her female organ but later died after he escaped with her into the city for proper medication.
Indepth investigation into the said matter disclosed that on the 13th September 2009 Mohamed Lamin wed the late Mariana Cole in Freetown. Four months after their marriage the biological mother of the late Mariana requested that her daughter should go over to the provinces to be initiated into the Bondo Society as it is part of their custom and she should not be an exception which the husband venomently opposed, this medium was told.
On the first week in February 2010 Mohamed Lamin received a letter from his mother-in-law requesting her daughter to go over to Makeni as she is seriously sick and had no one to take care of her. Investigation unveils that days inside the first week in April Mohamed Lamin in good faith released his wife to take care of her mother until she recovered.
On a visit to his mother in-law in the town of Makeni intelligence whispered to the husband that his wife was presently in the Bondo bush awaiting initiation. Because Mohamed was a stranger in the town he rushed back in town and collected a friend by the name of James who is born and bred of Makeni, sources state. Mohamed and his friend was able to locate the society bush were he escaped with his beloved wife Mariana. Following the persistent pressure from FGM initiators and families of the late Mariana Coker, Mohamed Lamin is presently nowhere to be found by families and friends in the four corners in the country.
