Charlie Ojukutu-Macauley commonly known as Charlie O-Macauley gets re-elected for the 2nd time at the closely fought Barnet Local Elections in London.

Charlie was first spotted by his local Member of Parliament Andrew Dismore in 2005 and having worked with him for a while, concluded that Charlie is someone the Labour politicians can work with to motivate and educate black and ethnic voters about the importance of getting involved in British politics and making a choice of who leads them.  Since then, Charlie has been in the thick and thin of the Labour politics.  He was first elected in the Local elections as the First African Councillor in Barnet Council in 2006.

From 2006 to date, Charlie has become one of the famous faces in Barnet council and especially in his Ward where members of the community contact him on daily basis with problems ranging from Housing, Schools, Medical, Environmental, Immigration and Social.  To many he is a ‘star’ Councillor who goes that extra mile to solve their problems.

Amid a very hard fought election, Charlie won his council seat again in the just ended Local Elections of 6 May, 2010 with an impressive number of more votes.  Generally, Labour won outright in the Local Elections while the parliamentary results show a Hung Parliament.

The British people anxiously wait to see what happens as they make political ‘deals’ to form a government “in National Interests”.
