Campus ministry Canada hits FBC
A 15-man delegation from a renowned Christian ministry, Every Nation Ministry Canada, on 5th July paid a visit to another campus ministry, New Harvest Campus Ministry at the Fourah Bay College.
Speaking to a jam packed hall of Christian students, the head of the mission, Omotora Johnson introduced her members and called on the Sierra Leonean students to embrace themselves and love Christ as He is the head of every unit, community and country. She also stated those Sierra Leone students who are Christians should be examples as Christ like people.
She further said even when the country is coming out of war, the Christian community especially students who are future leaders of the country, should have personal relationship with God for Sierra Leone to become one of the best countries in the world.
Omotora employed the students to forget the past as the youth were directly misused and insulted during the war. She encouraged them all to depend on God and be forward looking to become good citizens.
In her closing remarks, Omotora pleaded with the youth not to remain dejected but to lean on Christ and take a move to a better future.
Speaking to the General Overseas of the New Harvest Ministry, Rev. Shodankeh Johnson intimated to this medium that his ministry started some fifteen years ago in Makeni, adding that his ministry has over fifty churches country wide and about forty-nine schools with eight private secondary schools in every region in the country. He said his ministry is blessed with a religious and community radio station, Radio New Song in Bo, serving the community.
Rev. Johnson further explained that the ministry has a tertiary institution which offers business and theological courses in Bo with campuses at Pujehun, Makeni and Mattru Jong. The motto of the ministry, Rev. Johnson revealed, is Passion for Christ and Compassion for Man.
The ministry also embarks on massive Agricultural project and creates employment for hundreds of Sierra Leoneans, Rev. Johnson disclosed.Â
