Letter To The Editor – re ‘VP’s Errand Boy Threatens Journalist’
Dear Editor,
I am please requesting that you give me space to make known my own ideas concerning the threat made against Mr. Tatafway Tumoe by Councilor Fomba and other Kono senior authorities.
In the first place, I know for a fact that town mining has been going on in Yengema and continues to be an activity that has been in existence since Councilor Tamba Henry Fomba took up power.
We were all sad to see that mining is going on but because we are afraid of Tamba Fomba as he is always threatening us with Vice President Sam-Sumana, we have always kept a low profile.
If Fomba says he is in constant contact with Vice President Sam-Sumana, we have no alternative but to listen to him.
Councilor Fomba has caused all of us to hate the APC and we are praying to Allah for the day we will have the opportunity to cast our votes in elections.
This is the time we will show the world that we have been suffering in silence.
On the issue of the Vice president and Fomba, everyone knows it is not a secret and we are all witnesses to the fact that Fomba is the errand boy of VP Sumana and John Yambasu. The boys doing the mining in Yengema and the thugs of Fomba and these are the thugs who have been attacking and beating innocent residents of the town.
Ojo Bob, a cripple who is running a petty trader shop was attacked by Fomba’s boys and he was seriously beaten and all his goods looted. Fomba had given the order that the boy be beaten and is said to have told the boys that even if they kill Ojo Bob, there will not be any problem as the boy is a member of the SLPP. Is this the democracy that we need here?
We are therefore asking that President Ernest Koroma put Fomba under control because it seems as if even the Vice president is not able to put this man under control and one day we will not wait to make any more report to journalists but we will also protect our selves if this man claiming to be a councilor for the APC gets out of hands again.
By Mr. Sahr Gbetu, Sorie Town, Yengema.
