HomeNationalSLIMO on SALPOST

Letter to: Salpost – Freetown, Sierra Leone – Dear Managing Director SALPOST: I am writing to add my voice of discontentment and regret for the unfortunate incident that took place at (Sierra Leone Post Office) SALPOST as reported by the Awareness Times newspaper. Aviation security and assurances to deliver, goods and services is a vital and intricate part of building a viable economy and infrastructure which the government can no longer ignore.

Therefore, we are calling on the Managing Director of SALPOST to get on with the people’s business to assure the rest of the world that such practices do not take place under his watch. The Managing Director needs to give a clear cut explanation on the measures and quality assurance procedures his organization has put in place that will ensure checks and balances for such unscrupulous practices (of interfering with peoples personal belonging) not to ever occur under any circumstances.

In the meantime, Sierra Leone International Media Organization (SLIMO) has made it a high priority to investigate this matter and other related issues to aviation security. And until such a time (SALPOST)  has made it clear that they have fully complied with all applicable safety measures and can assure the world that Sierra Leone’s mail delivery system is among the best in the world, SLIMO as an organization will make it a point of duty to challenge SALPOST Management to do better just as the President, His Excellency Dr Ernest Bai Koroma reiterated in one too many speeches calling for a swift and committed managerial system, to enable our country to build all vital part of our economy infrastructure at a steady and reliable pace.

We hope that SALPOST Management will treat this letter with the utmost urgency it deserves in the interest of the ongoing Agenda for Change in developing a more vibrant and reliable mail delivery.

Foday Mansaray, Executive Director, Sierra Leone International Media Organization
