Zain in Sierra Leone’s management team is drawn form the brightest talent at leading telecommunications and service companies.

Ted Sauti-Phiri (ACA): Managing Director

Ted, prior to his appointment as Managing Director of Zain Sierra Leone, worked as Finance Director of Zain Malawi and Zain Zambia. His first job was as trainee accountant at Southern Bottlers Limited (SBL) Malawi in 1986. Then in 1990 he became chief accountant of Malawi’s Portland Cement Company, and he joined Zain Malawi as Finance Director in 1999. He was involved in the setting up of the company and also served as the first company secretary.

Anthony Mwangi Theuri, BSc Physics and Computer Science : Director, Information Technology

Tony holds a degree in physics and computer science from the University of Nairobi in Kenya. He has held key positions in various telecommunication organizations in Africa including Telkom Kenya, Africa Onlime, Safari-com, Quest Technologies and the National Museums of Kenya in capacities ranging from Technical Manager to General Manager. Tony is a member of CIDOC, AFRICOM, TESPOK and EAIA.

Keith Geofrey Tukei, MA HDM DipM MCIM Chartered Marketer: Commercial Director(Sales and Marketing)

Keith began his career with Century bottling company Uganda. Within the company he held roles as Sales Manager, Key Accounts Manager, and Sales Training Manager with primary focus of equipping the entire sales staff with new skills. Having pioneered and implemented a successful distribution model in East Africa, Keith was relocated to assignments in South East Asia in 2004 – and his last appointment prior to joining Zain was in a consultancy role in another subsidiary of SABCO – BevServ international working with Coca-Cola bottlers for the south of Thailand.

He was in February 2010 appointed as Zain SL Commercial Director, overseeing both Sales and Marketing & Customer Care  Departments.

Kelvin Kellie, MBA (AMBA Accredited) from Oxford Brookes University, BA (HONS) in Business Administration from University of East London

Kelvin Ezekiel Kellie joined then Celtel as Head of Procurement and Administration Department, and is now Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications. 

Kelvin holds an MBA (AMBA Accredited) from Oxford Brookes University, BA (HONS) in Business Administration from University of East London, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) from the University of North London. He also holds a BTEC HNC in Public Administration.  He has established training and consulting services specialising mainly in procurement and quality management and has worked with companies to evaluate their quality and contracting effectiveness in relation to operational and strategic business needs.

He brings over 17 years of wide-ranging working and consultancy experience from the UK in dealing with functional procurement and contracting issues and systems to his engagements. As a senior manager with several UK organisations, Kelvin has led on procurement audits in various service fields using standardised methods and techniques. He has prepared action and development plans for improvement with pertinent performance management systems, and has personally implemented those plans to customer requirements and satisfaction. His professional affiliations include: Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing (CIPS), Member of the Chartered Institute of Management (MCIM), Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and Member of the UK Society of Procurement Officers (SOPO).

He is presently President of the Sierra Leone Lawn Tennis Association. Other hobbies include volleyball and table tennis.
