Subscribers Laud Zain’s ‘Fambul Tariff’

Wednesday, 15 September 2010 – Subscribers have commended Zain for crashing rates to Le.324 per minute (9 units) on-net and Le.432 per minute (12 units) off-net on its Fambul Tariff Scheme. The Fambul Tariff emerged as a result of a 60% reduction of tariff for both on-net and off-net. This has made Zain the most affordable Telecommunications Company in Sierra Leone and owing to their wide coverage and network reliability; this reduction in tariff has further consolidated their position of being the No.1 Telecoms network for every possible reason.

Mr. Solomon Rogers, who runs a manufacturing outfit in Wellington, while on a visit to the Zain Shop at Rawdon Street in Freetown, said his business had received a major boost since the Fambul Tariff was instituted. He said it allowed him to make more calls to customers and loved ones for less cost.

He said reducing the call rate to Le.324 per minute on-net and Le.432 off-net met the yearnings of Sierra Leoneans going by volume of calls they make on daily basis.

“If you are like me and make many calls in overseeing my business, then you will appreciate the benefits of Zain’s Fambul Tariff, which has enabled me to maximize my investments,” Solomon stated.

In the same vein, Henry Bucknor, a student of Njala University in Freetown (in photo), said he had been enjoying the benefits offered by Fambul Tariff since it was introduced.

“I never knew I could save so much until I read about the offer. The fact that I was able to purchase a Zain SIM for just Le.1,000 and then was able to make so many calls because of  the  reduction of their tariff.

Alhaji Ahmed Kamara, who deals in foreign exchange at Lungi Airport, Lungi, also expressed delight at the introduction of Fambul Tariff by Zain.  He was full of praises for Zain for the heavy reduction in call tariff for subscribers.

He said the savings from the Fambul Tariff package had positive effects on his business. For Sarah Bakarr, a Freetown-based trader, since the introduction of Fambul Tariff, “I have noticed that my credit does not burn out quickly. I am able to call more people even on other networks and I have also got my friends to sign on to the package so that we can all enjoy the benefits of Fambul Tariff.”

Zain’s Fambul Tariff, which was introduced last June, gives Zain subscribers the opportunity of Zain to Zain calls at the rate of Le.324 per minute. Similarly, Zain subscribers pay Le.432 per minute to other networks.

The package is available to postpaid, prepaid subscribers existing on the network and new subscribers. Buoyed by the positive testimonies by subscribers, Zain, in a press statement, showed appreciation to its numerous subscribers for keeping faith with the brand over the years.

Describing the package as a subscriber-win-all, Zain’s Commercial Director, Mr. Keith G Tukei, said that he was happy that Zain Fambul Tariff has achieved its objective of giving subscribers the freedom to make more calls to their friends and family across the country.

“We are encouraged by the fact that Sierra Leoneans appreciate this gesture from Zain and the value that Zain adds to their lives and businesses,” he said.

He disclosed that the network, in recent times, has witnessed upsurge in the number of subscribers signing on to it, which is an indication of the benefits derivable from the package.

Keith, described the Zain Fambul Tariff as a reward for subscribers’ loyalty in building the network through their patronage.

“Though the cost of operation continued to rise in this environment, we feel compelled to give our subscribers more value for money at affordable costs,” Keith said.
