Sierra Leone Captain Ibrahim Kargbo Recalled To Willem II’s First Team
Ibrahim Kargbo has been reinstated in Willem II’s senior side after apologising for missing his club’s match against PSV…
Following his demotion to the reserve team, Willem II has recalled Leone Stars captain, Ibrahim Kargbo back to the first team.
The Sierra Leone international midfielder better known as ‘Obreh’ returned to the Dutch outfit’s first team selection after his apologies were accepted by players and club officials.
Earlier this month, Obreh was demoted to the youth ranks after he failed to show up for the team’s Eredivisie clash against PSV, which they lost 1-0.
The 28-year-old midfielder’s conduct did not go down well with officials and not only was he demoted from the first team but he was also hit with a heavy fine which was undisclosed by the club.
After his agent’s attempts to defend his client, the Leone Stars captain has recently apologised to the club and is once again training with the first team.
A statement on the club website reads, “Kargbo, the player from Sierra Leone has made a sincere apology to other players and technical staffs who have accepted the apology. He is now again part of the selection.â€
This was not the first disciplinary action the player has endured. Earlier this season, he was punished by the club for returning too late from his vacation in Freetown.Â
This news implies Obreh may likely be featured in Willem II’s match against Roda JC on May 2.
