SLBC staff cry foul
Report has reached this press that journalists working for the newly transformed Sierra Leone Broadcasting Services (SLBS) which is now Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), has gone out of salary for the past two to three months after the services of the station have been transformed from a public owned entity to a private corporation institute.
Senior workers at the corporation who prefer anonymity told this press that since the transformation of SLBS to SLBC a contract was signed by the station management and the staff that they would initially be retained and paid for three months before the normal recruitment process started. That agreement is not working as they have not been paid since the agreement was signed.
The worker, however, commended the government through the Ministry of Information for making SLBS a private institutation which operates now outside the dictate of government, but calls on the relevant authority concerned to look into their current plight.
