At Koya Bye-Election Campaign APC, COPPP Declares for Dr. Samura Kamara
Prior to the bye-election for constituency 073 , the main Opposition party ,All Peoples Congress Party (APC) in collaboration with the Consortium Of Progressive Political Parties (COPPP) which is comprising of over thirteen registered parties APC, NGC, C4C, UP, PMDC, RUFP, PDP, ADP, UNPP, NDA, etc., have declared support for Dr. Samura Kamara ahead of 2023 election as their potential Flag bearer to eliminate the ruling ,Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) because of bad governance policies.
This was made public at Mile 38 village, at Koya Chiefdom in the Port Loko District during the last rally of the main opposition party for constituency 073 bye-election, on the 22nd of March 2023.
In his statement on behalf of APC, the Secretary General, Ambassador Dr.Osman Foday Yassaneh intimated that the APC is determined to win all bye-elections in Sierra Leone and the general elections in 2023.He said the people of Koya felt the absence of APC just in four years of the SLPP administration which he said had failed the people of Sierra Leone woefully with too much economic burdens and increasing violence.
Dr. Yassaneh said APC is the only party in Sierra Leone that is focus minded and developmentally oriented than any other political party, noting that the 2023 general elections are going to be all about APC through the support of the people who are currently suffering massively for daily sustenance.
He admonished Koya voters to think wisely and vote wisely for the APC candidate, Issa Oye Koroma so that the legacy of late Hon.Samba Turay will be preserved accordingly, and that Koya Residents should not encourage Alpha Khan in any way or form, because according to him he is not a trustworthy member but a selfish human being.
Speaking on behalf of NGC, Dr. Denis Bright who also served as COPPP member said he is very much delighted to be part and parcel of the APC campaign team through the formation of an alliance of over ten political parties which was established recently to remove SLPP into governance by 2023.
Dr. Bright said these political parties (Consortium) have been working assiduously since its establishment with one voice and goal for the betterment of the country, adding that the 2018 APC Flag bearer, Dr. Samura Kamara, who is the man of the moment will be the head of the consortium so that the 2023 general election will be win-win game called “BOT GAM”, for the good of the country.
“We are forming a strategic alliance for the betterment of mama salone. As political parties in opposition, we only have one mission, one vision, and one goal. Anybody who wants to disturb our movement, we would remove that person out of our way because we must win the 2023 election on a one go system. We have also decided to choose one candidate that will definitely represent the consortium in 2023 general election and that Candidate is Dr. Samura Wilson Mathew Kamara”, Dr. Denis Bright affirmed.
He appealed to the consortium to be mindful of the challenges ahead of the general election in 2023 and that NGC will start to educate their voters to vote for APC in all bye-elections and the main election in 2023.
In his political message, the Chairman for North-West Region, Hon.Buya Kamara said he is very much impressed with the huge turnout of electorates at the last campaign but appealed to voters to come out in their numbers on Saturday to vote for the APC candidate with the logo of the sun.
Hon.Buya said the people of Koya deserved to be treated as humans and can only manifest it, if the APC is able to retain constituency 073, noting that the APC party had started a giant project at Koya Chiefdom in the same Port Loko District which stances to employ over hundreds of thousands of young people and that is the Freetown-Mamamah Inland Airport & City project.
He assured Koya residents that the APC is still determined to construct the Airport & City at Mamamah Vilaage if God be their helper to win the 2023 election with a landslide victory against the SLPP.He described SLPP administration as one that is not focus minded in its operations to create more economic zones that could improve the lives of citizens but rather, they focuses on other irrelevant stuffs that would not benefit the state and its people.
Hon.Buya cautioned voters to be on time in the polling centers where they vote in the last general election in 2018 and warned voters not to panic at the activities of the security personnel because they are there to protect live and properties not to protect a political party alone.
In his appreciation mood to voters and APC executive, the aspiring candidate for constituency 073 bye-election, Issa Oye Koroma told the gathering that he is very much impressed with the support from the party executive, especially Dr. Samura Kamara and his Team who were accompanying by thousands of party stalwarts and supporters in my last rally.
The aspiring candidate said Dr. Samura Kamara, and Team early embarked on a robust door-door campaign to appeal to voters to vote for me massively come March 26th, 2022.
“I actually appreciate Dr. Samura Kamara and the entire APC stakeholders for visiting homes and educating voters on how to cast their vote for me as the rightful candidate with the right mentality and quality to transform constituency 073”,APC candidate confirmed.
He disclosed further that, the presence of Dr. Samura Kamara, Alhaji Chief Sam Sumana, APC Secretary General, Paolo Conteh, Kaifela Marah, Members of parliament, Councilors, and other APC big guns motivated him and his supporters immensely ahead of the polls on Saturday which is going to be a victory for APC.
“I knew that I was chosen by my people of Koya Chiefdom, and I am expecting a voter turnout of over 14,000 votes to clinch the envious seat of constituency 073 with a landslide victory. We would ensure that every vote is secured and protected accordingly with no hesitation or panic. I also want people to know that they should vote where they vote during the last general election in 2018”, APC candidate maintained.
Issa Oye Koroma added that, the polling day location will be at Songo Junction where people would be conveying from one place to another with transport reimbursement for party agents and voters who are coming from far neighboring villages.
He admonished his team and the Koya stakeholders to come out on Saturday and vote for change against the SLPP candidate who is desperate to rig the election at all costs, but the people were strongly behind the APC party for a comeback in 2023.
In his Goodwill Message, the Urban Eastern District Chairman, Mohamed Kamara aka Med Kay expressed happiness to Koya electorates for coming out in their numbers to welcome the APC party ahead of the bye-election on the 26th of March 2022.
Med Kay said the East District is ready to give their support for the APC in all bye-elections and even the general elections in 2023 with both logistically, financially, morally, and physically all in a bid to remove the SLPP from governance due to their bad policies.
He commended the Port Loko District Chairman, Alie Suma and his team for coordinating the activities of constituency 073 bye-election for the good of the party and the people of Sierra Leone, because according to him, APC is the most popular political party presently in the sub-regions.
In another development, the former Defense Minister, Paolo Conteh, who is also a senior member of APC said they are ready to do whatever it’s takes to 2023 with no run-off through the legal means.
Commander Conteh said the party is bigger than any member and so they had decided to team-up solidly for the betterment of the country, noting that the people of Sierra Leone deserve better conditions of living than what is ongoing now with the economy of the state.
He appealed to the grassroots supporters to continue exercise patience as the Chairman & Leader of the party who happens to be the former President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma is still doing his best to restore hope that 2023 would be a victory for us all so that the struggles will not continue to double whilst other speakers also make meaningful contributions.
However, the occasion was climax with the APC traditional song, to inspire voters to come out in huge numbers to vote for positive change on the side of the APC candidate, Issa Oye Koroma.
