Hon. Abdul Kargbo Denied Entrance Into Airport Extension Launching
The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Jabbie Bio is again on the spotlight for the wrong reason as mother of the nation.
During the launching of the Lungi International Airport Terminal Expansion Project, the Honourable Member of Parliament representing Constituency 076, Hon. Abdul Kargbo in Kafu Bullom Chiefdom which hosts the airport as the first gentleman of the constituency was denied entrance to the ceremony simply because he is an opposition to the current government. Frist Lady Fatima Bio stated publicly that Hon. Abdul Kargbo was denied entrance into the ceremony because he is an opposition and has no business in his constituency and must wait on President Bio at Parliament. She shamefully stated that when President Ernest Bai Koroma was in power, he never invited SLPP MPs whenever he visits Kailahun.
Political madness is really killing development in Sierra Leone and sincerity of purpose is really lacking in our governance and political dispensation. It is sad to note that the Hon. Member of Parliament for Constituency 076, Hon. Abdul Kargbo was denied access to witness the launch of Extension of the Lungi Terminal by President Julius Maada Bio through the instruction of his wife Fatima Bio. This is really a frustrating moment for our country, how can you denied access to the Member of Parliament representing the people were the Airport is Located?
His presence was to be highly honored but the stink mentality of people especially those placing the interest of their political parties above the country’s development. Where is our patriotism? Where is the inclusion in our country?
Let our development goes beyond political, religious and tribal lines for the benefit of generations yet unborn. Hosting the ceremony to expand the terminal without the presence of the sitting Member of Parliament especially in a situation where he was denied access to enter is a very bad precedent for our Governance system. Hon. Abdul Kargbo officially received two Invitations: one from Parliament and one at Lungi. How can you invite the elected representative of the people and publicly humiliate him. This political pettiness must end now to develop Sierra Leone.
