As Bio Intervenes Lands Minister Shame
The Sierra Leone Minister of Lands Country Planning and the Environment, Dr. Dennis Sandy, who is continuously bragging to be an aggressive minister, untouchable and sacred cow in the Sierra Leone Peoples Party [SLPP] Government has been exposed to ridicule by his Boss, President Julius Maada Bio as many people believe that his timely intervention into the land dispute between the Krio Descendants Union and the embattled minister would yield dividend.
Since his appointment as Lands Minister, Dr. Sandy has been terrorizing members of the Krio Descendants Union who believed to have lawfully possessed 90% of the lands in the Western Area Urban in the name of repossessing state lands.
Thousands of Sierra Leoneans believe that President Bio’s intervention into the long standing rift was as a result of the too many negative reports against Dr. Sandy, a situation that irate people including SLPP supporters have not only described as bad but will also negatively affect the popularity of the party among grassroots supporters.
Dr. Sandy is been widely criticized among the Krio descendants in Freetown not only because he instituted such a disturbing demolition exercise but he also instructed his men to destroy concrete blocks, pour water on bags of cement, taken away tools at Charlotte community and stolen bundle of zinc at Hill Top. In fact, that is why lot of citizens have described Sandy’s move as a mission not to protect citizens lives and properties but to destabilize Krio community and other sectors of people in society using political power.
One of the senior workers in the ministry under review, Noah Kamara who held a big hammer accused of conniving with other demolishers in presence of the minister, armed OSD and military personnel looted the bundles of zinc from the demolished compound and placed it into one of the vehicles among the minister’s motorcade.
According to members of the union, they were very happy with the decision taken by President Bio for Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh to look in to the land conflict between the two parties and fin an amicable solution adding that they are not happy with Minister Sandy for conducting such an embarrassing program in their lands which they acquire from their ancestors without engaging or noticing stakeholders.
The victims of Dr. Sandy’s brutality are therefore expressing gratitude to President Bio for his swift intervention and appealed for the wicked minister to be extradited for the SLPP not to continue losing Western Area where they never score positive goal since ancient days.
