Super Holdings, Bollore, others Awarded in Sierra Leone
In a bid to mark the celebration of the International Labour Day (May Day) , the Sierra Leone Labour Congress (SLLC) has on May 1st 2019, recognized and issued certificate of merit to Super Holdings Company Sierra Leone Limited, Bollore Freetown Terminal Ltd, Guma Valley Water Company and others for outstanding performances in promoting workers’ welfare.
Sierra Leone Labour Congress made the historic recognition and certification at the Miatta Conference Centre, Brookfield’s in Freetown with the presence of International Labour Organization (ILO) experts, Government officials, private partners, trade unions, drivers union, Sierra Leone Teachers Union (SLTU) and concern citizens among other key Stakeholders.
The event, according to SLLC top officials was to create a platform for awareness raising campaign for government and private employers’ to improve the welfare of workers.
The certificates of Merit were awarded to Super Holdings Company, Bollore Freetown Terminal, Guma Valley Water Company among others in reorganization of their commitment in addressing workers’ affairs and for maintaining industrial peace and harmony in the country.
But however, the various representatives who received their awards on behalf of their institutions commended SLLC for recognizing them during the annual celebration.
In that vein, the recipients of those awards expressed happiness to SLLC management and staff for recognizing their performances and also for promoting the social welfare of workers in Sierra Leone.
Other Private Institutions Present were also inspired by those awards and has shown great determination and willingness to promote and improve welfare of workers across the country.
