Why Continuing Rape in Sierra Leone?
It is undoubtedly clear that some well to do men are still in the habit of having indecent sexual penetration with little girls that are expected to be their daughters in this present universe. Some school of thoughts view it as a mere nonsense.
In an exclusive interview with one Mariama Sesay whose daughter was among the victims of rape, disclosed to The Health News Paper that she does not understand why men in their forties forced little girls below the age of three to have sexual penetration with them.
She furthered that her daughter age seven (name withheld) was raped by her stepfather when she (Mariama) was out of the house to go and launder for the family. She also continued that the only time she knew was when the condition of the child became deteriorated. I don’t know why he raped her she opined.
Musa Lahai whose child was also raped said in a sad mood, with all the monies that have been spent by the First Lady of the Republic Sierra Leone Fatima Bio, yet still men continued to rape little children in the society. Is it that the Hands Off Our Girls is dormant? he stressed.
Mohamed Mansaray suggested that Judiciary must be seen to be independent in dealing with such cases, noting also that all offenders must be brought to court in order to face the full penalty of the Law.
