Police Investigate Death of RSLAF Lance Corporal

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) is currently carrying out investigation into the circumstance that led to the death of Lance Corporal Roberts M. of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) at the Bureh Beach in the Western Area Rural District (WARD).

This was disclosed last Thursday 10th January, 2018 at the SLP Headquarters on George Street, Freetown by Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Kalia Edward Sesay, who said on Monday 7th January, at about 0920 hours, the remains of RSLAF 18174228 Lance Corporal Roberts M. attached to the Armed Forces Training Centre (AFTC), Waterloo was discovered at Bureh Beach.

In another development, AIG Kalia Sesay disclosed that the SLP has intensify strategies to curb clique activities in the country, adding that nine clique numbers have already been arrested after a clash between two clique groups at Grafton Village on the outskirts of Freetown.

AIG Sesay said during the clash, one Bai Sheika aka Adviser, who is head of Graftonhood Money Pool Clique Group, stabbed one Osman Bangura aka Toshiba, a member of Black Rose Clique Group that died later at the Jui Hospital.

The corpse of the deceased, AIG Kalia Sesay said, is currently at the Connaught Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy, adding that a total of sixteen suspects are in police custody helping with investigation into an alleged illegal timber logging at Delmadugu Chiefdom in Falaba District.

AIG Sesay disclosed that on Monday 7th January, Hon. Hajaratu Faith Samura of No. 3 Access Road, Kissy in Freetown reported that Le8 million was trickily stolen by an unknown person from whom she has been receiving phone calls on Sim Number 078120918 purported to be the Clerk of Parliament.

Hon. Hajaratu Faith Samura said the Clerk of Parliament, Hon. Paran Tarawally requested her to transfer Le1 million each to the following Orange numbers: 076631028, 076631024, 075944528, 075854169, 078180154, 076582546, 076247618 and 075897628 which she claimed to have done upon receipt of the request.

AIG Sesay said a statement was obtained from complainant and at the same time prepared a request on the subscriber details and a call history on the aforesaid Sim Numbers, adding that investigation into the complaint was in progress.
