SLPP Wastes Tax Payers Money On Foreign Auditors
According to a reliable international source, Sierra Express Media was informed that forty-six financial and performance auditors from Kenya, Tanzania, and Ghana have joined Audit Service Sierra Leone for a month’s technical audit on NASSIT, Energy, Civil Works and Telecoms from January 2016 to July 2018. Quite a good number of the country’s trained and qualified Auditors are raising genuine concern with regards the substantial finances that will be paid to those foreign Auditors, all in the name of expatriates, and as if they are not competent enough to wholly undertake such a function.
The commoners are saying that since the GTT Report has been seen as a mere witch hunt, on which abundant resources have been extravagantly used, yet still government functionaries were defending it in vain. They are accentuating on the fact that such an audit is a well orchestrated way of wasting the country’s money, in order to intensify their premeditated fight before taking the mantle of governance.
“Has Sierra Leonean Auditors ever been invited to the aforementioned countries to execute transactions that have to do with Financial and Performance auditing? We have trained, qualified and experienced Auditors here who are capable of executing such a vital activity in the best interest of their country with considerate sum paid to them, rather than hiring international service which is costly, especially at this very difficult moment the country is going through. It is indeed a change from bad to worse, but time will tell,” opined some grassroots representatives.
