In spite Of Bogus Promises Bio’s Free Education Turns Shambolic

At the launching of the free education at the Miatta Conference Hall, what sounded deceitful to most people that were present is the fact that President Julius Maada Bio (in photo) did not match up to his words in tandem to what was mentioned in his presidential manifesto as against his specification during that hot moment.

Citizens who were present at the presidential debate conducted for former presidential aspirants are attesting to the fact that he did say, he will purchase exercise books, text books, uniforms, furniture and other essential teaching and learning materials.

According to the adequate representation from the Sierra Express Media, the majority of the audience were murmuring and babbling by saying that the president is implicating himself simply because he has started specifying expenses.

His Excellency, President Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio clearly stipulated that he will only provide text books and furniture for core subjects, unlike his previous statement (that is he has omitted school uniforms, note books and other essential learning and teaching materials).

Another key area that was highly noted was when President Bio made mention of the rehabilitation and reconstruction of schools as against September 17th this year. Rational people were raising concern on the time elapse, considering the demand for this free education that is surrounded with a lot of challenges.

Critics were raising indisputable concern that the president should have properly planned well before impromptu implementations which are causes for failure.

Again the selective salary increment that is about to be announced soonest by the Ministry of SSS and tertiary education would be another room for challenges that will deter the purported free quality education that is currently used to attract international funding, exclaimed by some youths when interviewed.

In a nutshell, when cross sections of poor parents were interviewed, they clearly vented that hunger – being the recent national crisis, will not match with the free education. They said, for their children to develop sound minds with total concentration, they need good food that will speedily develop their thinking capabilities – hence leading to accuracy. “But I did not hear him speak about the school feeding programme. I am afraid because our leaders say one thing at certain point in time and do the opposite at another given time”, whispered one old woman.
