Grand Conspiracy At Metro Hotel American Citizen Robbed $47,000
August 3, 2018 – Sources close to this medium have revealed that American citizen, Mr. Young Gon Choi, who came to Sierra Leone on the 18th of July 2018 on a business tour, is a victim of a grand conspiracy that has resulted in $47,000 of his hard earned money been callously carted away from him by a clandestine criminal syndicate. It was disclosed according to report that on the 18th July, 2018, Mr. Young went to the Metro Hotel at 184 Wilkinson Road and resided for over 10 days before that painful robbery was done. When at the hotel, Mr. Mohamed Hedjazi, the owner of Metro Hotel, personally assigned a private security guard to Mr. Young. The assigned Security Guard, Augustine Allen, according to Mr. Hedjazi, was a trustworthy man that Mr. Young could personally trust.
Sierra Express Media (SEM) was informed that the American Investor went out for a walk with the hotel manager, Musa Bakarr. On their return at about 2:00 a.m. , it was the greatest shock and dismay to see that the window guard bar was broken and it later came to realization that $47,000 had been carted away while the security guard, Augustine Allen, who was on duty at the said time, was nowhere to be found. Mr. Choi immediately reported the matter to Mr. Bakarr- the hotel manager who in turn cascaded that mishap to Mr. Hedjazi- the hotel owner who gave deaf ears to that embarrassing issue. As all efforts of the victim proved futile, he was left with no option rather than seeking legal redress by reporting the matter to the CID Department of the Lumley Police Division which later transferred the matter to the CID Headquarters.

In all of these, the owner and management of Metro Hotel have neither taken responsibility nor have they make any move to address this embarrassing situation. Their actions have however raised serious eyebrows from members of the public as to whether they were not part of the conspiracy to rob Mr. Young.
As at press time, the security guard, Augustine Allen, is currently on the run and has not been seen since the ugly incident occurred
However, this action by Metro Hotel has left a good number of would be investors afraid to come and invest based on such orchestrated robbery that are going on in the country. On the investment point of view, such alleged criminal practices have the tendency to debar foreign investors from investing in Sierra Leone, thereby denting the image of our country and thus creating negative investment growth.
SEM is therefore calling on all state authorities concerned to speedily look into this matter and take drastic action against the perpetrators of this ugly act in order to save the image of the country.
