The Government of Sierra Leone under the leadership of the newly elected President of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), Julius Maada Bio has ignored the Mamamah Inland Airport plus City project due to other national priorities.
This came into light during the first government press briefing under the new direction held at the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC), Youyi building, in Freetown.
Minister Mohamed Swaray expressed happiness to media institutions present for honoring the call of the ministry after a long standstill due to the conduct of the 2018 elections.
Swaray told media practitioners that their government inherited the worst economy ever in the history of Sierra Leone since Independence in 1961 and that the government of President Bio is not ready to talk about any other national project especially that of the Mamamah Airport project until further notice .
He updated Journalists about the government continual progress for a total taking over of duties in most government Ministries, Departments and Agencies for a smooth process of quality service delivery and to fast track development.
The Mamamah project was commissioned early this year by the erstwhile President Ernest Bai Koroma of the main opposition, All Peoples Congress (APC) in a move to decongest the city and to make travelling easier for people.
