APC Deputy Chairman Vows to Support Parliamentarians

In an interview with Sierra Express Media, Med Kay who defected from the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) to the APC during the March 7th 2018 elections told this reporter that he decided to seek political refuge to his homeland in the Northern Province of Makeni after they lost the 2018 election to the SLPP to protect his political image and that of his followers for the sake of sustainable national peace.

He said, “I decided to seek refuge to my home land to avoid any confrontation after the pronouncement of the result by the National Returning Officer of the National Electoral Commission, N’fa Alie Conteh.

When asked as to why they lost the 2018 election? Med Kay responded positively that in any democratic contest there must be a winner and a looser adding that the APC is a united family that has many grassroots support nationwide with firm structures and that the party will go to the drawing board to know what went wrong and how to address such unfortunate incidents for future elections.

He highlighted his plan to organize a family outing for all APC followers and also a football activity across various constituencies in a bid to bring everybody onboard so that the party can move ahead with its flagship projects to win the 2023 general election with no run-off.

“I will always remain an APC member till death because I believe in the APC ideology which is to liberate the poor from acute poverty and also with tangible legacies investment nationwide”, Med confesses.

The Deputy Chairman noted that, politics time is over and now is time for national development and that they as opposition party are ready to work for the interest of the people in Sierra Leone.

He said the party will soon start to engage various constituencies and local councils across the country in a bid to encourage supporters who have been victims of political violence in the previous elections.

He added that the party will continue to strengthen its structures especially in the Western Urban District with good initiatives for the next election adding that APC parliamentarians must succeed in their various constituencies with the support of the party’s stakeholders who he said are more determined than ever for the success of the party.

He admonished all followers and sympathizers to remain calm as the party is still strong to come back to power and that they are calling on APC members to support their Members of Parliament with whatever support for the benefit of everybody and the country in general.

He expressed happiness to the outgoing President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma for a peaceful transition of power during his tenure and also for lifting the APC party to a higher height in the political landscape.

He extended sincere appreciations to all those who supported him during the electioneering process with open hands and vowed not to forget what they have gone through when the party lost the election
