Qatari Gov’t Snubs President Julius Maada Bio
The Government of Sierra Leone, led by the former junta leader, Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio, has suffered a shocking disappointment from the Government of Qatar over what many had referred to as a flamboyant and bogus request of 10 VIP Cars and 15 VIP Jeeps from the Qatari Government.
The disappointment came after the Qatari Government had failed to honor the request of a letter from the president of Sierra Leone, dated 4th May, 2018 to the Emir of Qatar in which a presidential fleet of 10 VIP cars and 15 VIP Jeeps was requested in order to mark the just concluded inauguration ceremony of His Excellency Brig. (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio.
According to the letter of request, the Fleet was needed for state protocol to facilitate the transportation of foreign dignitaries that were to attend the inauguration including Heads of States and Governments, members of Royal families and Senior Government Officers, many of whom were not even in attendance; a request that was thrown to the trash bin by the Qatari Government.
