Goal Pharmaceutical Returns to Business
One of the biggest wholesale medical stores at 39 Sani Abacha Street in Freetown, Goal Pharmaceutical has returned to normal business after been investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department over allegation of possessing Free Health Care (FHC) properties.
Few months ago, the owner of the business who is a Lebanese national was arrested to the Criminal Investigation Department with medical equipment’s suspected to be FHC property including surgical hand gloves, hospital beds and other essential materials.
The suspect who refused to respond to media interview and the alleged stolen items were loaded into a Police van from Abacha Street to the CID in presence of Police officers, Anti-Corruption personnel and a team of media practitioners for investigation.
After thorough investigation by CID officers, the business proprietor was released and the pharmacy reopened. But many people believed that such Government relief items could only be sold to the public in connivance with medical people who are at the helm of affairs.
In fact that was the reason many people who were in the scene argued that Goal Pharmacy should not be blamed but our corrupt medical officials should be held responsible for such unproven malpractice.
As citizens, we hope and believe that Goal Pharmacy business owner was set free from CID because she was not found wanting and we are calling on the law enforcement body especially the Police to bring anyone found blameworthy to book.
