ORANGE connects remote communities in Tonkolili and Koinadugu

In response to regulatory requirements and felt needs of unserved communities in remote parts of the country, ORANGE, one of the leading GSM Operators in Sierra Leone, has launched new sites in the mountainous terrain  of Sama Bendugu, Alkalia and Gbentu communities in the Tonkolili and Koinadugu districts respectively.

The occasion was graced by local chiefs, Members of Parliament, Government ministers and characterized by singing, drumming and dancing as an outburst of joy and appreciation of the locals.

Momoh Kemoh Konte, Chairman and Commissioner  of NATCOM, the national telecoms regulatory authority, highlighted the importance of telecom to the life and welfare of communities across the globe, adding that Bendugu, Alkalia and Gbentu have joined the global village and would now share its opportunities.

He cautioned the community to secure the infrastructure and keep it clean at all times.

Chairman Konte gave statistics of the growth in data and voice in the last few years.

He appealed to Mobile Network Operators to connect more people to more services and to deliver a good quality of service to consumers.
