Kroo Bay community feels abandoned

The Kroo Bay community youths have expressed disappointment over the APC regime. Kroo Bay community is one of the biggest slum dwelling seaside settlements situated in the West end of Freetown. It could be recalled that during the 2007 elections campaign which brought the current government into power, youths of this said community sweated their blood and expended their energy to see president Koroma come power.

But after two and half years in governance, the Kroo Bay community has not felt part of the all celebrated development that is going on in the country. Speaking to Sierra Express Media, the community youth Chairman Mr. Sorie Sankoh has cried out loud over the abandoned state of the community in terms of livelihood and basic environmental hygiene. The unavailability of basic health- care facility poor drainage system inadequate water supply and electricity are among the few problems suffered by this community.

Sierra Leone Share Sympathy with Nigeria

As the Nigerian President, Alhaji Musa Yar’Adua passed away; friendly Sierra Leoneans sympathize with their Nigerian brothers over the irreparable loss of their leader. The Sierra Leone High Commission in Nigeria has already opened a book of condolence on behalf of the people of this country.

SLP Mourns AIG Gbekie

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) mourn the irreparable loss of their boss, AIG Tamba Gbekie whose sad event took place on the 7th May, 2010. Though the actual cause of his death was not disclosed, but he could be remembered for his relentless service rendered to the Sierra Leone Police Force and the people of Sierra Leone. AIG Gbekie was in charge of personnel welfare in the Force. He will be highly missed by friends and loved ones for his kind gestures and indefatigable service offered to this nation. May his perfect and gentle soul rest in peace.

The remains of AIG Gbekie will be conveyed to Kono on Saturday 15th May, for a befitting burial at his village in Tuyor.

APC Loses Pujehun

As the constituency by-elections ended last Saturday in the southern district of Pujehun, the National Electoral Commission has announced that APC has lost Pujehun to the opposition SLPP. Impeccable reports coming from the district indicated that the APC has been expecting much to have come out of the district considering the huge sum of money used to cajole voters. Sadly, their wishes have landed on solid rocks and yielded nothing but regret and shame.
