New England Ville Cry For J.S.S School

Head teacher Mr. Sheku Amara and of the New England Community Primary School and concerned parents of the community have requested government to provide them a Junior Secondary School, a need that is becoming too obvious for the people of the area the Mammy Queen, female chief told Sierra Express Media.

Talking about the conditions and services of the school, Mr. Sheku Amara said the School started in 1994 and now has up to nine hundred and eighty (980) pupils and Twenty Two Teachers. Mr. Amara further revealed that their School is presently managed by both Teachers and the community stakeholders within the area and that all arrangements that concern the School are always shared by the entire community and school authority.

The school he said has gone through many reforms adding that they once wrote a project for the School structure to be changed into a standard one and was funded by the former British Commissioner to Sierra Leone Peter Penfold. Since then he noted, the Evangelical Church came to the aid of the school and provided them with some materials and funds to run the affairs of the school.

The Head of the Teachers and community Leaders Association chaired by Pa Essa Sesay unanimously complained that the need for a junior secondary school is ripe enough as parent and kids are suffering just too much to be sending their kinds to faraway communities for schooling. The school it further revealed will be able to serve other surrounding communities like Sorie Town, Loko Town, and Dwarzark and Hill Cut Road communities.

Essa Sesay indicated that ministry of Education has been contacted on many occasions to help build a junior secondary for the community but that all seems a far fetched dream.
