Dr. Marah Promises to Protect President Koroma’s Legacies
As the race for the All People Congress (APC) flagbearer position gaining momentum, Dr. Kaifala Marah has promised to protect President Koroma’s legacies if he is given the opportunity of becoming the party’s flagbearer candidate for the forthcoming general March 7th 2018 elections.
Dr. Marah made this pronouncement at the APC headquarters’ offices on Old Rail Way Line in Freetown when he was officially declaring his intention for the Flagbearer position of the APC party on 4th October 2017.
Speaking on behalf of the National Secretary General and Deputy Chairman, the current National Organizing Secretary, Comrade Alhaji Mohamed Dondondo Bangura, who also double as the Chairman of the occasion said he was very much impressed with the huge turnout of supporters from different communities to show their commitment for the APC adding that he was there to represent the party on behalf of decision makers who were absent due to other important assignment that has to do with the running of the state.
He admonished all aspiring aspirants to exercise patient after the party’s convention which is schedule to take place in Makeni town in October this year.
He commended President Koroma for his good ambition to elevate the country to another level in terms of development and transformation of the country.
He introduced Dr. Marah to thousands of fans to the general public as the next hope he is for the party and the country as a whole.
Dr. Marah expressed profound gratitude to all those that came out in large number to support him in his campaign to become the next APC flagbearer.
He acknowledged various supporters from Freetown Central Support Group, Western Rural Support Group, Trade Unions, Market Women, Youth Groups, APC Veterans, APC Women’s Wing among others for collaborating effectively and efficiently with the party in diverse ways to enhance future development.
He assured supporters that if he is giving what he described as golden opportunity to head the party ahead of the general election, he will unify the country and protect all Government legacies which he said need more improvement to continue where president Koroma stopped with the implementation of the Agenda for Prosperity (A4P).
“My main reason for vying for the highest position in the land is that, I want to continue contributing to the development process of Sierra Leone”, said the former Bank Governor and further informed the gathering that, when President Koroma gains power, he was the first Chief of Staff in the Office of the President to advise him on important issues which has to do with national development.
He also emphasized on how he transformed the Ministry of Finance and Economy Development (MOFED) after serving as Chief of Staff as a result of his hard work.
He assured the general public that he will follow the footsteps of President Koroma if elected as the APC Flagbearer and committed that, he will continue establishing strong bilateral relationship with international partners and other countries.
He said will prioritize health, education, agriculture, economic mobilization, energy improvement, water and tourism so that unemployment will be a thing of the past among Sierra Leoneans and even non-citizens.
He confirmed that he is also one of the pioneers for the Agenda for Prosperity when he was serving as Minister of Finance and Economic Development and Bank Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone where he strengthened the economy to its normal shape.
Dr. Marah expressed thankfulness and appreciation to the general public and the entire membership of the APC for maintaining campaign activities in a peaceful manner.
