Murder Case Committed To High Court
Detective Police Constable A.T Bah attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Congo Cross Police Post, has testified before Magistrate Abou Bakarr Binneh Kamara of court No. 1 in a murder case at Tengbe town involving five accused persons.
The witness in his testimony said that he recognized the complainant Tom Davies Senior and also the five accused persons, Sinna Sesay, Abu-Bakr Turay, Sheriff Gibrilla Sesay, Ibrahim Kanu, and Alhaji Desmond Conteh.
He told the court that, on the 30th day of March 2017, he recalled receiving a distress call while on duty at the Congo Cross Police Station, from a concerned citizen of Upper Tengbe town that informed him about the murder. DPC A.T Bah informed the court that based upon the information he received, a team of CID General Duty Operational Personnel left for the crime scene. He furthered that upon their arrival, they discovered the alleged stabbed male victim lying on the ground dead. The deceased body, Tom Davies Junior was later conveyed to the Connaught hospital for a postmortem to be done on him.
The accused persons are facing two counts of Conspiracy and Murder contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused on Thursday 30th March 2017 at Upper Tengbe town in Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit murder. It was added on the police file that the five accused on the same date and place, murdered Tom Davies Junior.
The matter was then committed to the high court for trial without bail as the accused persons have a case to answer.
