ICC sponsors female golf tournament
International Insurance Company (SL) Limited (IIC) has concluded arrangements to sponsor the upcoming Ladies Friendly Golf Tournament of the Freetown Golf Club, which is expected to tee-off on Saturday, 8th May, 2010, on the golf course of the Club on the Beach Road, Lumley at 10.00 am, as part of its contribution to the development of sports in Sierra Leone, promotion of healthy life style and corporate social responsibility.
According to the program released by the organizers, ten female golf players have entered for the tournament, which is expected to provide thrilling and exhilarating performance. The Ladies section of the Club, organizes regular friendly tournaments amongst its members, as part of its annual sporting calendar. They reach out to corporate bodies to sponsor the tournaments.Â
Prizes have been slated to be won by the first, second and third best players. The prizes will be presentd by the wife of the company’s Chairman, Mrs Ayo Macauley, at a prize-giving ceremony, scheduled to hold on Saturday, 8th May, 2010 at 2:00pm, at the Freetown Golf Club.
It would be recalled that IIC, which started insurance business in Sierra Leone on the 1st of August, 2003 has been supporting sports in Sierra Leone. The company had been a pillar of support to the Boxing Association in their various boxing competitions.

He concluded that sponsorship of noble events and supporting just causes are part of ways and means the company could impact positively in the environment.
