During the committee’s first visit at the Wilkinson Road four-lane dual carriageway (5.2 km) widening project constructed by the China Railway Seventh Group (CRSG), it noted that Section 93 Sub-section (111) (112) and (116) of the 1991 Constitution mandated Members of Parliament (MPs) to investigate, enquire any money received for and on behalf of the people of Sierra Leone if they are utilized for their intended purpose.

The committee encouraged colleagues to ask relevant questions within the confinement of the law, noting that they have several areas to visit, adding that they as committee would focus on completion, the quality of standard, percentage and variation of projects.

Chairman on the Committee said they are inspecting all major roads within the Western Urban and Rural Areas including the Wilkinson Road, widening project of 5.2 km construction by China Railway Seventh Group (CRSG), Signal Hill, Jumu Kenyatta Road, Hill Cut Junction, Hill Side Bye Pass Road, (Phase 1), Pademba Road and others justifying the President’s Agenda for Prosperity.
