Malgo Records supports Sierra Leonean Musicians
A newly established record label and studio in Sierra Leone has, according to report, staged an impressive support to Sierra Leonean musicians that have the opportunity to produce a scintillating rhythm known as the ‘Cotton Tree Rhythm’. (Lesley Gordon, Keep on the good work)
According to report, on the intervention of the new record label through the new rhythm, it was gathered that its intervention was timely and a supported boost for the striving youths in the entertainment industry in Sierra Leone.
In a brief interview with the Proprietor of Malgo Records, Mr. Edwin Gordon, he disclosed that the passion in him to develop youth activities in the country urged him to raise funds while he was living in Banjul, The Gambia and later settled in his home land.
“Sierra Leonean musicians are very talented and need this kind of support to emerge better into the global music industry,” he stated, noting that this will help bring to reality the well-meaning “Agenda for Prosperity” by President Koroma and further building in the youths hope and self reliance in the dreams they believe.
Naming the record label in memory of his late mother Orlinda Malgo Gordon, he said that Mama Orlinda was a virtuous woman who respected and loved the activities of musicians and that he assured her that he will do his best to make her name memorable through his record label.
He thanked the Government of Sierra Leone and her international friends for combating the deadly Ebola virus.
He revealed that both the audio and video products of ‘Cotton Tree Rhythm’ were recently released to the people of Sierra Leone, which he said was instantly accepted by them.
He called on Sierra Leoneans to give their ultimate support to their musicians, adding that this will bring self reliability to the youths who believe that their natural talents will bring them the good fortune they desire.
