For Gross Professional Misconduct Police Officers in Hot Water
The Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Lawyer Sulaiman Bah, is reported to have instructed the Criminal Investigation Department at Pademba Road in Freetown to a matter involving some police officers at the Aberdeen Police Station who allegedly released a prime murder suspect while refusing the other suspect involved in the same case of the murder of David Sydney Buck whose corpse was discovered at the notorious Murray Town cemetery.
The DPP’s instruction followed a formal complaint to the office of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice and to the office of the DPP by the other suspects who were not released but allowed to continue languishing in the police cells. They viewed the act of the Aberdeen Police Officers as tantamount to gross professional misconduct.
It could be recalled that in May this year, David Sydney Buck was invited to serve as DJ in a party thrown in the residence of the prime suspect and before the party ended, Sydney mysteriously disappeared and days later, his decayed remains were discovered in the cemetery.
The matter has since been before Magistrate Komba Kamanda of the Magistrate Court no.1 with the prime suspect and one Oreh Renner facing charges of Conspiracy and Murder. Three witnesses have already testified in the preliminary trial.
