For Procurement of 100 Buses Transport Minister Faces Parliament Today

The Minister of Transport and Aviation, Leonard Balogun Koroma, will today stand before the Members of Parliament to explain how the hundred buses were procured and the cost of each of the buses.

The motion for the minister to appear before the house was raised by the Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Alhaji Ansumana Jaia Kaikai and seconded by the Majority Leader, Hon. Ibrahim Rahim Bundu,

It could be recalled that before and after the purchase of the buses, taxpayers whose monies were used to purchase such public transport raised concern over the procurement exercise and the cost of each of the buses.

This has prompted the Members of Parliament to summon the minister for clarification amid the wide-spread allegation that the procurement of the hundred buses was characterized by massive fraud.
