Dangote of Nigeria Wants to Open Sierra Leone Cement Operation
April 19 (Bloomberg) — Alhaji Aliko Dangote, founder and chairman of Dangote Industries Ltd. of Nigeria, intends to open cement and flour factories in Sierra Leone’s port in the capital, Freetown.
Dangote would import raw materials for production and ship the bulk of the finished product as exports should his companies be granted licenses, he said at a presentation in Freetown today.
The Sierra Leone Port Authority is allegedly in the process of selling the state-owned port.
Dangote was listed as the 261st richest person in the world last year by Forbes Magazine, with net worth of $2.5 billion
