IAO Frowns at Hypocrite Muslims
In a bid to check the high level of religious hypocrisy among counterfeit Muslims, especially during this Ramadan month, the Islamic Awareness Organization (IOA) will be organizing a day-long public lecture on the topic, “The Status of Hypocrites in Islam.”
This information was relayed yesterday to the Sierra Express Media by the IOA Chief Lecturer, Sheik Abdulai Kamara, during an exclusive interview.
He said the lecture will be held on Saturday, July 11th, 2015, at 41 Regent Street in the central business district of Freetown.
The purpose, he went on, is to sensitize Muslims on the dangers of religious hypocrisy.
According to him, beside other periods within the year, they have observed that most people pretend to be Muslims during the Ramadan, a pretentious attitude which, he said, is totally condemened by the Holy Quran.
“Most people consciously or unconsciously fake being Islamic to impress others and forget that the act is sinful to Allah,” Sheik Abdulia Kamara pointed out and warned that it would pay Muslims practicing hypocrisy if they refrain from the immorality.
To justify the IAO’s claim of widespread hypocrisy among the Sierra Leonean Muslim community, Sheik Abdulia Kamara commented on how mosques countrywide were overcrowded by worshipers during the early stages of the 2015 Ramadan month.
Commenting on the present attendance of mosques, Sheik Kamara lamented that the number is fast dwindling day-in-day-out.
This, he furthered, is not only ridiculous to the status of Islam but also having the high potential to badly influence other Muslims maintaining strong and genuine faith in Allah.
“The situation is worrisome because if people can be so brave to be false in their religious beliefs, there are all likelihoods that they would practice the same ill in their marital, political and business undertakings,” Sheik Kamara opined.
He therefore called on all Muslims and non-Muslims to endeavor to attend the impending IAO’s one-day public lecture.
