Diana, others pay special call on VP Foh

Explaining the purpose of their special call on the Vice President at his Tower Hill offices in Freetown, Madam Konomani said it was to pledge the support the Vice President needed from Kono people and that they were there on the blessings of their Paramount Chiefs in all the fourteen chiefdoms.
“We are here to give you our support as our Vice President and to allay the fears of other people across the country who think that the Kono people will not support you. Hon. VP you have our full support,” she emphasized.
She said Vice President Foh has been part of the Kono people for years and that while he was working as a Senior District Officer in the Kono district he used to give a helping hand to the children of Kono district and that she happened to be one of those children the Vice President assisted.
She recalled that when the Vice President became a full time politician and during his tenure of office as Secretary General of the ruling APC party, he had special interest in the Kono people to a point that he was the best friend, protector and guardian to the former Vice President, Alhaji Sahr Sam-Sumana.
As far as development and politics are concern, Madam Konomani asked the the Vice President to call on the Committee, the 14 Paramount Chiefs in the district and the entire people of the Kono district as they will give him the support he needed.
She assured the people of Sierra Leone that Kono needs someone who can show leadership to the district and that they have no doubt that the Vice President will give the district the leadership it deserved.
The minister said they blamed no one for what befell them and that she and her group strongly believe that this government has Kono at heart and that the development that was designed for the district will come to Kono, adding that they are expecting that with the Vice President by the side of His Excellency, there will have more development in the district.
She earlier described Ambassador Foh as not only the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone but a brother who has contributed immensely to the development of their district, Kono.
Giving the formation of the Committee, she said the committee comprises of ministers, MPs, Ambassadors and stakeholders of the Kono District, adding that the Committee is a very strong team formed to assist the government of His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma to move forward the development strides of their district to a higher level.
Welcoming the visitors, Vice President Foh thanked the Committee for calling on him, stating that the message came in at the right time and that it has been very well received by him, saying the message has bridged a whole lot of gaps in their political landscape.
The visit, he described, was an opportunity for them to work together to complement the development agenda of His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.
