AIM donates protective equipment to Mabesseneh Hospital

The items include 3 boxes of WHO Type A, basic module of Personal Protective Equipment, 2 boxes of WHO Type B, complementary Personal Protective Equipment, 5 boxes of Personal Protective Equipment, MSF Clinical, 5 boxes of Personal Protective Equipment, MSF Cleaner and 13 boxes of Personal Protective Equipment, low risk burden IFRC.
Presenting the equipment to the management of the Mabesseneh Hospital in Lunsar, the AIM Director, Rugiatu Neneh Turay underscored that the donation was part of her organization’s support to complement Government‘s efforts to contain the outbreak as well as step-up its intervention from social mobilization and sensitization to responding to the needs of health workers in Port Loko District.
According to Rugiatu Neneh Turay, AIM received the items from its partners, Terre Des Femmes, a German-based organization to support health workers to contain the outbreak in the country.
Madam Turay maintained that the aim of her organization at this critical time is to support health institutions with the provision of affordable, good quality and accessible health care services for the people of Port Loko District and Sierra Leone as a whole.
The Mabesseneh Hospital Medical Director, Dr. Jibao Sandy, who received the items, expressed thanks and appreciation to AIM and partners, Terre Des Femmes organization for the invaluable support that would enhance their work.
He said AIM organization has demonstrated concern for the hospital at a time when it is in dire need of the items, disclosed that this is not the first time AIM has donated to the hospital citing the food stuff that was donated when the hospital was quarantined for 21 days and assured that the items would be judiciously utilized.
The Executive Secretary of the Mabesseneh Hospital, Madam Fatmata Mansaray also lauded AIM organization and partners pointing out that the hospital have been delivering quality health services to the people of not only Port Loko District but the entire country. She also assured AIM and partners that the items would be utilized for their intended purpose.
The Communications Officer of the hospital, Joshua Sandy, expressed similar sentiments reiterating that the items would protect health workers.
