Sierra Leone´s Emile Carr elected board member of Transparency International

Speaking shortly after the elections, Mr. Carr said 12 people were nominated but only six were elected with him securing the 3rd highest votes.
He expressed delight and optimism for such a success and said such accomplishment was as a result of his dedicated and committed service to the organisation over the years.
Mr. Carr said Transparency International—Sierra Leone is working in coalition with the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), civil society and Human Rights organisations to help minimize corruption and ensure a transparent and accountable system in the country’s governance system.
He highlighted his organisation’s key objectives which he said among others are focused on promoting integrity, and anti-corruption values in personal and national development efforts. He promised to work hard with his counterparts to ensure that corruption is reduced in the country thus enabling the people enjoy their basic social services.
He expressed confidence that Transparency International—Sierra Leone would continue to work towards public education on the causes and effects of corruption and further encouraged every Sierra Leonean to work in the interest of the country.
Transparency International is made up of 95 chapters across the world. The organisation works towards eliminating corruption and promoting transparency, accountability and integrity at all levels and across all sectors of society.
