Ben Hirsch and its partners boost Ebola Survivors with Start-up kits in Kenema
A Non-Governmental Organization that deals with children’s affairs with funds from Goal Ireland, Ben Hirsch, and its partners Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children Affairs has been engaged in giving out start up kits to more than 50 orphan children who survived the Ebola Virus and start up cash in the tune of Le 400,000 each to the care givers of the orphan children who survived the Ebola Virus within the Kenema District. Speaking to this reporter the National Coordinator of Ben Hirsch Mad. Haja Burreh said that they decided to undertake this exercise because the orphan Ebola Survivors and their care giver have nothing to start with and that with those items they will be able to start their lives again before calling on other humanitarian organizations to come in with more support as the survivors are vulnerable.
Hawa Belewa the Child Protection Officer of Ben Hirsch admonished the care givers to use the money diligently before urging them to take good care over the children as they are the leaders of tomorrow.
The partner officer of Goal Alimamy Sesay said that the money given to the care giver is to be used to start up a business which will help in the running of the home. He said as an organization they will be preparing questionnaires which will be used to access them in the different business they are doing.
Alimamy Sesay reiterated that they are not promising anybody additional money as there are no funds but stated that any funds in subsequent programs will only be given to those who are maintaining their own businesses.
Receiving the items one of the beneficiaries Morison Gboa thanked Ben Hirsch and partners for thinking of them and promised to make good use of the opportunity given to them before pleading with the organization to think about them whenever they get funding.
