Thou Shall Eat Foundation on Ebola Sensitization

The Thou Shall Eat Foundation, a charitable organization has taken the Ebola sensitization to Kissy in the far Eastern part of Freetown.

Speaking to the Foundations Public Relations Officer at their Wilkinson Road office, Mr. Arnold Hallowell disclosed that the role of the Foundation has taken the fight against Ebola to the East End of Freetown and its environs especially the Kissy police barracks where the programme was held because of the congestion and poor sanitation which are recipes for the virus to thrive.

Mr. Hallowell maintained that as a foundation they also need to show commitment in the fight against Ebola in the country but stressed that they are a charitable organization that caters to transform the life’s of orphans, vulnerable children and youths but one child at a time. We carry out this mission by caring for these children through practical support, mobilizing resources through critical issues for wholistic child development to advance their lives and give them a brighter life to self reliance and meaningful citizenry.

He noted that the foundation needs support so as to enable them get more children off the street. He noted that after getting them off the street they later take them to a drop in center, adding that a drop in center is different from an orphanage since they are not adopting the children. These centers are just temporary homes where the child stays for some time whiles their documentation is in process.

The PRO also lamented that the founder and sponsorer of the foundation Mr. Christopher Norman is the only person who is funding the foundation whilst also seeking support helter-skelter to keep the foundation running.

He concluded that at a crucial time like this they are calling on other humanitarian organizations, child right organizations and other child activists to support them in order to save more orphans created by this deadly virus.
