MP Ibrahim Nox Sankoh, constituency 097 declares war against Ebola

Honorable Member of Parliament for Constituency 097 Ibrahim Nox Sankoh has declared war against the dreadful Ebola virus which has claimed many lives in the country.

The MP made this declaration at the official launch of Ebola sensitization and eradication campaign at the Wellington Community Center past weekend.

Speaking at the occasion, Hon Sankoh drew the attention Major Ismael Sengu Koroma, icon of the gathering by informing them about the money allocated to the constituency by the government towards the fight against Ebola.

He stated that the Le62m was given to each Member of Parliament meant to sensitize people and the entire exercise he added is bound to last for six months, stressing that it is a grave mistake for people to believe that the money is for some charity purposes.

He added that apart from government’s recent intervention, he had singlehandedly started the campaign some three months with no support from any quarter.

He thanked the three councilors and the constituency executive for their total cooperation in the fight against Ebola maintaining that the fight against Ebola must be a priority to every citizen as it is now a global concern. “We must put hands on deck to complement the President’s effort. Constituency members must also serve as watch dogs by reporting Ebola related cases to health authorities while taking the necessary precaution,” he admonished.

Chairman of the occasion, Osman Jalloh aka “Biggie Small” thanked representatives from various political parties adding that their presence was an eye opener and true spirit of patriotism. The occasion was climaxed with skit play from the “Giants of the East comedians “local artist and the distribution of items worth Twenty Million Leones (Le20M) to various wards, social clubs, mosque and churches for the purpose of sensitization.
