David Simbo is still vital for us says club chairman

Sudanese side AL-Hilal Chairman Alhaj Atta Amanan has insisted right back defender David Simbo remains a key player for the team despite speculation linking him with a move to Egypt.

The 25-year-old Sierra Leonean international is understood to have been the subject of a bid from Egyptian champions Zamalek but Amanan said it would take big money to prize him away from the club.

The club boss noted that Simbo is a top player and very important to us adding that “There were a couple of bids for him from South Africa and Congo but they were nowhere near the valuation of the player he told Africanfootball.com.

“Top players demand top fees if they are going to move, but at the moment, that isn’t the case. He is our player and we are looking forward in making him happy at the club despite he has a year contract still remain for him but he is our player.

“He is very much under contract with us and I love the way he plays, I love his mentality to the game and I look forward to seeing him this week, hopefully.”

Asked if there is a contingency plan in place if the Leone Stars Defender deal become a reality Atta said No but this is a team we will get another player to fill the void.

“You’ve got to be on your toes at all times and I have to say, I think we have been, this year in particular, really on the button on transfers.

Speaking to Football Sierra Leone Simbo said negotiation is on but my club still look reluctant over the fee Zamalek has paid so far but they have turned them down, According to him it is not all about the fee but they don’t want to lose me as the Club Chairman has made that known to me he said.
